TAICO chosen as Microsoft Pathfinder School

 

Congratulations!  Your school has been selected to be a Pathfinder School as part of the Microsoft Partners in learning for Schools Program! As a Pathfinder School, you were selected because you have the potential to create scalable and replicable educational transformation that can influence schools within your own community, country and around the world.  As the school leader, you have proven that you have community and professional support for the change process and strong school-level leadership.  You have an overall vision for what you want to achieve, and the Pathfinder Schools program will help you refine the vision, make it stronger and implement it.
As a Pathfinder school you are committing to a year of exploration, dedication and hard work.  The list below outlines the expectations of the schools who are participating in the Pathfinder Program.

  • Participation of the school leader and one other school team members at the Partners in Learning Global Forum on November 6 – 11, 2011 in Washington D.C, USA.  The PILGF meeting is mandatory for all school leaders and they must participate. If the school leader is unable to attend this important meeting, the school’s participation in the program will be postponed until the next application period.   Additional school team member can include (but not limited to)
    • Director of Curriculum or ICT
    • Director of Organization or Professional Development
    • Other members of the school leadership team
    • Representative from school district
  • Participation in Mentorship teams meetings.  Mentor teams are designed to provide guidance and examples of best practice that will assist schools with the continuous improvement cycle. Each team will consist of Pathfinder Schools, Mentor Schools and a third party coach.  These teams will be grouped together by countries and region. Each team will work together during the PILGF and have seven virtual mentorship meetings over a twelve month participation period.
  • Participation in the Virtual University workshops.  These workshops are hosted by leading education experts and mentors schools leaders relating to topics on innovation and school transformation.   Virtual University sessions run monthly.
